WHO guidelines adapted to you

“You should exercise more” is probably one of the most common phrases in the medical profession, usually followed by a generic suggestion of “thirty minutes of daily movement”. The ubiquity of these words is proof of the profound impact physical activity has on a person’s physical and mental well-being, both as prevention and as an integral part of treatment.

However, what you should actually do during those thirty minutes a day is, many times, anybody’s guess.

The World Health Organization – WHO – offers clear guidelines on how to employ physical exercise to prevent and combat the most common yet serious conditions of our time: hypertension, diabetes and depression. But even when those guidelines reach the patients in a comprehensive way, it can be overwhelming to distill them in a workout routine and then fit that routine in an already busy everyday schedule.

This is where Shape Up comes in. Our mission is to promote physical activity as a pathway to physical and mental well-being.

Shape Up’s medical team adapts the WHO guidelines to your individual characteristics and needs, creating bespoke workout regimes in terms of volume, intensity, and weekly frequency.

The Shape Up app helps you work out to improve your health and manage your condition. Be it walking, running or cycling, it all adds up to your daily workout. And you can do it wherever, whenever, freeing yourself from the restraints of special equipment, or specific venues and their opening hours.

The world is your gym, and it’s open 24/7.

Being able to monitor your activities in detail you can make sure that what you are doing counts, and you can clearly follow how your efforts are adding up.

Just have fun while moving, and step by step, you are literally heading towards a better life.
